Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
The Society has identified changing education and training requirements of the industry and is continually developing its current range of relevant options. In recognition of the Society's aim for developing a 'global knowledge based Society', a Continuing Professional Development (CPD) is being developed for the benefit of SDC members.
The scheme works by members formally recording their relevant CPD activities. A minimum of 30 hours per year is recommended which must be drawn from at least three of the following categories:
- post-qualification studies
- short courses
- distance learning and private study
- in-company management development
- imparting knowledge
- attendance at relevant conferences, exhibitions and meetings
- committee work.
SDC members can read more by logging on the CPD section of the ColourClick membership site.
A blank Certificate of Attendance is available for download to help members in maintaining a CPD record.
