The SDC Board annually appoints a Finance Committee at the first meeting after the AGM (By-law 20.2).
Its purpose is to assist the SDC Board in carrying out its duties regarding the financial management of the SDC and specifically to review finance procedures and results, investigate areas of financial concern or interest. Ensuring the SDC operates always in accordance with all relevant financial standards

The Nominations Committee takes responsibility on behalf of the SDC Board for reviewing the composition of the SDC Board and the Audit Committee. It also ensures that the procedure for the appointment of Trustees, the President, the President-elect, the Vice-president, Honorary Officers and members of the Audit and Nominations Committees is rigorous and transparent.

The SDC Medals Committee recommends medal and award winners to the SDC Board based on member nominations.

EQAB’s responsibilities include: supervising the administration and moderation of the SDC’s examinations, and evaluating candidates’ performance. Adjudicating on applications for Fellowship, Associateship, Licentiateship, Chartered Colourist, and Voting Membership. Identifying and evaluating relevant courses and programmes run by external organisations and where appropriate to accredit those that are judged acceptable for the award of the SDC’s qualifications.

Publications Committee responsibilities include: supervising the publication of the SDC journals and other periodical publications including Coloration Technology and The Colourist. To oversee the review and updating of the SDC’s published books and to commission new books where appropriate. To liaise with the technical department regarding the scope and content of best practice guides and other publications/technical articles to be published in print or on the website.
