A Monte Carlo Method for the Validation of Discrimination Ellipse Data

The difficulties of fitting reliable chromaticity discrimination ellipses are discussed in relation to the distribution of data points. A simulation technique as an alternative to repeat experiments is described and suggestions are made about the interpretation of simulated results. Examples are given of the application of the technique to some well known data
