Achieving Right-first-time Production Through Control
The thesis of this paper is that the dye-fibre reaction involved in the coloration of cellulose fibres with reactive dyes is a chemical reaction that requires careful control of process conditions in order that the same end point may consistently be reproduced. The main considerations will focus on the importance of dye standardisation, selection of dyes which in combination exhibit minimum sensitivity to expect small on-line processing variables, and application profiles with on-line checks at critical stages. This provides the basis for implementation of relevant controls and the mechanism for achieving right-first-time production
