An Ion-exchange Method to Determine the Uptake of Colourless Cations by Acrylic

An analytical procedure based on an ion exchange reaction is proposed for studying the uptake of colourless cations (retarders) by acrylic fibres. Sodium ions in the fibre pass into the dyebath as a result of an exchange reaction and are determined by atomic absorption analysis. The method can be used even in the presence of dyes
