International industrial trends to increasing usage of polyester/cellulosic blends for sportswear and leisure wear apparel outlets have put increasing demands on the performance of disperse dyes, particularly the cross staining and fastness. Innovation in developing novel disperse dyes to meet increasingly higher quality demands is reviewed.
