Honorary Fellow awarded 2010 to Dr Robert WG Hunt

SDC Honorary Fellowship awarded “for a life-time service to the field of colour science”. Dr Robert Hunt had been involved in colour science since starting at Kodak Research laboratories in 1946, where he worked on factors affecting the quality of colour images. In1982 he became an independent colour consultant, being at various times visiting professor of colour science at the Universities of Derby and Leeds. He has written over a hundred papers on colour vision, reproduction and measurement. His book “The Reproduction of Colour” is now in its 6th edition and “Measuring Colour” in its 3rd edition. His  interest/research was in applying colour science to practical problems in industry and the environment. Certainly “a life-time’s service to the field of colour science”.
