Influence of Oxyethylenated Alkylamines in the Dyeing of Wool

This paper deals with the relationship between the chemical structure of the oxyethylenated alkylamines (AA-etox) and the effect of these compounds on the aggregation of C.I. Direct Red 1 in aqueous solution and its dyeing behaviour on wool. Dye solutions have been examined spectrophotometrically and used to dye wool in the absence or presence of different AA-etox, varying the molar ratio (MR) of dye to auxiliary from 1:0 to 1:16, and the hydrocarbon chain-lauryl (LA) and stearyl (ST)- and the ethylene oxide chain (15, 20, 25, 40 and 60 moles of ethylene oxide) of the auxiliary product
