Silver Medal awarded 2010 to Abdul Rahim Khatri

For outstanding service to education in Pakistan.

Abdul Khatri graduated as a colour chemist from Leeds University followed by a masters degree in textiles. He has been heavily involved in various educational establishments in Pakistan linking the practical aspects of the dyeing industry with education by writing articles and lecturing. He is an external supervisor for a masters student on a research program for the Textile Institute of Pakistan on reducing water usage in reactive dyeing – a very topical subject. He is also involved in training for small and medium companies where knowledge is lacking using Right-First-Time as a tool to improve productivity
