Structure-property Relationships in 1,2,4-Tri-donor-substituted Anthraquinones – 2-Amino-1,4-dihydroxyanthraquinones

Condensation of 2-bromo-, 2-sulph or 2-phenoxy-1,4-dihydroxyanthraquinone with primary or secondary amines affords a series of 2-aminated derivatives. These compounds colour synthetic-polymer fibres, particularly polyester, in red hues of good build up and fastness to light.
