Textile Floor Coverings: Colour Fastness to Shampooing’, is a new test developed by the Carpet Sub-committee, who believe that sufficient work has been carried out to warrant wider coverage of the method. The new method differs from the current SDC shampoo method in that it: (i) uses a different buffer system, which does not use a scheduled poison (ii) uses a lower liquor ration, but allows for any thickness of test specimen by ‘ensuring thorough wetting of the specimen’ (iii) is a shorter test, because it is carried out at 37 +/- 2 °C or, in other words, under the same conditions and using the same apparatus as the SDC water and perspiration tests
