The Colourist: Save the date for the next SDC Day of Celebration
The SDC is pleased to announce the date and venue for the 2027 AGM and Day of Celebration.
The annual event will take place on Friday 14 May 2027 at Bradford Live. A stone’s throw from SDC’s head office, Perkin House, Bradford Live originally opened as the New Victoria Theatre in 1930, and it is now the city’s newest entertainment venue following a complete renovation back in 2025.
The Society’s Board have decided to move the Day of Celebration back to be alongside the AGM. Following careful consideration of venue availability, member accessibility and key event requirements, the Society has selected Bradford Live as the host venue for what promises to be a memorable celebration of the achievements and professional excellence of the global coloration industry.
Located in the heart of Bradford, Bradford Live has recently undergone an extensive multi-million-pound refurbishment, transforming the historic former Odeon building into a world-class entertainment venue while preserving many of its original Art Deco features. The restoration has brought new life to one of Bradford’s most iconic landmarks and provides a fitting backdrop for one of the most important dates in the SDC calendar.
As part of the Society’s move towards a streamlined annual programme, the 2027 event will now bring together the AGM, Awards presentations and Day of Celebration Dinner into a single day.

Members should note that there will be no standalone Day of Celebration event in 2026.
However, there will still be an opportunity to meet with industry colleagues later this year at the SDC UK Technical Conference, taking place at the Cedar Court Hotel in Bradford on Thursday 15 October 2026.
The conference will be followed by an evening dinner hosted by the SDC UK Northern Region, which is open to all delegates and members to attend. While not a black-tie event and less formal than the traditional Day of Celebration Dinner, it will provide an excellent opportunity to network and connect with colleagues old and new.
