The Dyeing and Printing of Polyester for Carpets

The economics of polymer production suggest that polyester may in future compete increasingly with nylon for the production of floorcoverings. Its advantages and disadvantages are discussed with respect to wear performance and ease of coloration. A selection of modified polyester fibres, which are more easily dyed and printed than standard polyester, has been investigated and their commercial availability should accelerate the wider adoption of polyester
