The Dyeing of Cotton with Phosphonic Reactive Dyes in Alcohols

The poor fixation achieved with phosphonated reactive dyes on cotton in practice, particularly printing, has prompted a study of the effect of reaction conditions and the use of different diimides to achieve fixation. It has been possible to achieve as much as 95 % fixation with a typical dye under suitable application conditions where decomposition of the diimide can be minimised
