The Effectiveness of CIE94 Compared with the CMC Equation

A comparison of various colour-difference formulae, including CMC(2:1) and CIE94, is presented. It is suggested that there is scope for simplifying the CMC formula for practical use. However, until such a simplification can offer a clear advantage over established procedures, there would be little point in adopting it, particularly when inexpensive computers are readily available
