The Reaction Mechanism and Fixation of Monochloro-s-triazine Dyes on Cellulose Using Tertiary Amine Catalysts, JSDC, March 1964, 80, p 134-143

The reaction which take place between monochloro-s-triazine dyes and certain tertiary amines under homogenous alkaline conditions have been studied, and the results obtained have been related to practical fixation behaviour in the pad-batch (cold) dyeing method.  It is concluded that the use of catalytic fixation methods may be restricted owing to problems of due compatibility, which are much more pronounced than when uncatalysed fixation methods are employed.
