The first heat of the 2016 International Design Competition was held for the London region at the splendid Fashion and Textile Museum on Thursday 18th February. Talented fashion and textile design students showcased their amazing designs leaving the experienced judging panel with some tough decisions. Against stiff competition, Hannah Rumsey, a BA Textiles for Fashion and Interiors student of UCA Farnham was announced as the winner for her outstanding design for interiors entitled ‘Domum Crevit – Home Grown.’
Worthy runners up were Jessica Smith also a BA Textiles for Fashion Interiors student from UCA Farnham and Beth Ranson, a Fashion Textiles student from the London College of Fashion, whilst judges commendations went to Rosie Butler- Hall from Norwich University of the Arts for her design ‘Cloaked in Wool’ and Evie Francis from UCA Farnham for her design ‘Maureen’.
