Margarida Freitas is looking forward to a “unforgettable experience” in London at the Grand Final of the International Design Competition later this year. Margarida, a second year Fashion Design and Marketing undergraduate from the University of Minho was recently awarded first place at the Portuguese heat of the competition, impressing the judging panel with her design ‘As cores da Vida’ – ‘The Colours of Life’. Portuguese designers Daniel Viera, André Paiva and Ana Faria selected Margarida and her colourful designs to represent Portugal at the next stage of the competition where she will compete against finalist from all over the world.
Margarida comments “I found in colour a way of expressing my creativity, using improbable mixtures; not by the stroke or the drawing itself, but by the color and the way it is organized.”
We wish Margarida every success in London and extend our thanks to our judges, participants and in particular to our Portuguese competition co-ordinator Joana Cunha for organizing a successful heat .
