Success for Sarah in York

United Kingdom

‘Calmer Chameleons and Moody Monkeys’ was the title of the winning entry at the UK Final of the International Design Competition held on Friday 10th May during our Day of Celebration.  Despite tough competition from the winners of this years UK regional heats for the coveted position of UK Finalist, Sarah Gotheridge, a BA Art and Design Fashion student from Nottingham College wowed the judging panel with her “professional, commericial and sustainable” design.

Alice Hargreaves, a BA (Hons) Printed Textiles and Surface Pattern Design impressed the judges with her “strong interpretation of the brief” and “great potential for future development”;  narrowly missing out on the top prize, she was awarded ‘runner-up’ for her design ‘Transparent Textiles’.

Many thanks to our inspiring panel of industry professionals including:

Mhairi Muncaster, Development Manager, The William Morris Gallery
Sarah Lloyd, Head of Creative Resources and Branding, Panaz
Michelle Crayton, Head of Design at Cleland McIver Ltd

Many congratulations to Sarah (pictured right) and well done to all our finalists who gave the judging panel of fashion and textile creatives such a hard task.
