Zara takes First Place at Scotland Heat

All the colours of Scotland were on display in the heart of Edinburgh on Friday 18th March at the Scottish regional judging heat of the International Design Competition.   Held in the stunning surroundings of Edinburgh College of Art, the Judging panel of industry professionals cast their expert eye over designs from emerging fashion and textile designers from universities and colleges across Scotland and selected Zara Nugent, a Textile Design student from Edinburgh College of Art as the standout winner for her design entitled ‘Tir na nOg’.

Well deserved runner up places went to Emma Jamison, also of Edinburgh College of Art for her design ‘Crafted Nature’ and Isla Rustrick from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design for her design ‘Kakamegh’

Entrants also attended an exciting interactive colour workshop by PHD student Gillian Boyd that explored Synaethesia –‘touch colour’ and Colour Blindness.
