Sommet-De-Couleur- 2019

The event consists of Five events all together -four seminars and a fashion show. Detail below.

SDC International, ISFT and KDCL have collaborated to support their mission to showcase the following:
• To put forward challenges for textile professionals in colour communication, coloration and compliance
• To encourage collaborations between fashion and textile coloration
• To provide a platform for innovators, users and compliance organisations to engage in collaboration for a ‘greener’ coloration industry.

About SDC International: SDC International is a fully owned subsidiary of the Society of Dyers and Colourists, who are an outstanding provider of colour education, offering a range of internationally recognised coloration courses and qualifications in their mission to educate the changing world in the science of colour. Founded in 1884, the SDC became a registered charity in 1962 and was awarded a Royal Charter in 1963. The SDC remains the only organisation in the world able to award the Chartered Colourist status. The SDC has a worldwide membership and is a centre for networking and community engagement amongst the coloration industry. https://sdc.org.uk/

About ISFT: International Society of Fashion Technology is an Institution incorporated in 2003. ISFT provides a motivating environment where students receive hands on knowledge about different aspects of Fashion, Jewellery and the Interior Design industry. https://www.isftcollege.com/

About K & D ITMACH Expositions LLP (KDIEL): K & D ITMACH Expositions LLP (KDIEL) is all about organizing, managing and developing Trade Fairs and Exhibitions. From a humble beginning in 1997 KDCL is now India’s leading exhibition organizer.

About ITMACH – ITMACH India is a successful international textile machinery exhibition in India, supported by the leading textile industry trade journal Textile Excellence. https://www.itmach.com/project/itmach-india-2019/

We expect machine manufacturers to take a lead in providing solutions to more sustainable manufacturing of textiles. Machines are the tools that can shape the coloration process in a way that it delivers the best outcome.
However knowledge of how the machine works and the skills needed to make it work at the most efficient level needs training. SDC International intends to target this need. With collaboration with one of the most esteemed organisation it would deliver three courses via an online education platform:

1) Certificate of Colour Management of Textiles (Competency Course). Module 1: Principles of Colour Development, Assessment, Communication and Approval, Module 2: Practical visual colour assessment of textiles, Module 3: Practical instrumental colour assessment of textiles.
2) Colour Fastness Testing of Textiles – Certificate of Appreciation.
3) Introduction to Coloration: Fibers to Coloured Fabrics – Certificate of Attendance.
In order to execute the above mission the trio will organise five events as below:

5th Dec 2019:
Theme: Colour Communication.
Colour arises from a complex interaction of light and brain signals. Confusions in colour assessments are possible if best practices are not followed. In order to be informed about the best practices and innovations that lead to authentic, repeatable & accurate colour assessments, you will need to learn from the experts in the field. The event will call upon designers, merchandisers, quality control, dyers, fashion forecasters, trend forecasters, and academia to enroll and benefit from this unique opportunity. We look forward to meeting you at the event.
1. Registration opens at 2:00 pm 2. Event starts at 2:30 pm
3. Short Break at 4:30 pm 4. Event concludes at 6:00 pm.

6th Dec 2019:
Theme: Investigating technologies for Innovative textile manufacturing by Dyers and Colourists
This event provides a unique opportunity to anyone connected with colour and coloration to present innovations to the leaders in the industry. We call upon designers, merchandisers, quality controllers, dyers, fashion forecasters, trend forecasters, and academia across the globe to apply with their research papers/ideas/suggestions to an esteemed panel consisting of experts in the field of colour physics, coloration, compliance and trade. The panel will provide unbiased advice to SDC International regarding the quality of the submissions and their proximity to be a successful business idea.

Entries should be sent to Ms Mamta Thapar via mamtat@sdcil.com. Please send soft copies in PDF format only.

7th Dec 2019:
Theme: ‘Colouring without Guilt’
“It is isn’t for the scientist to dictate the world, it is for the scientist to declare to the world what they see and then allow people to make up their mind”- Sir Attenborough to BBC. These words are very relevant to the pollution levels arising from the textile production industry. Textile coloration has to carefully examine current technologies and how environmental impact can be drastically reduced. Awareness is higher where manufacturing is done by the conscious and informed colourist. However the bulk of manufacturing is less informed and for local brands and domestic consumption where there is huge opportunity to create awareness about the harmful effects of banned and high environmentally impactful dyes and chemicals and efficient innovative manufacturing processes. This event intends to bridge this gap of awareness between the extremes of awareness. We call upon
designers, merchandisers, quality control, dyers, fashion forecasters, trend forecasters, and academia to enroll and benefit from this unique opportunity. We look forward to meeting you at the event.
1. Registration opens at 10:00 am 2. Event starts at 10:30 am 3. Short Break at 11:45 am 4. Lunch 1:30 to 2:00 pm 5. Tea break 3:00 pm 6. Vote of thanks 5:30 pm 7. Fashion show starts 6:30 pm jointly hosted by ISFT,ITMACH & SDCIIPL. (Details available on separate brochure). 8. Fashion show ends 8:30 pm

8th Dec 2019:

It is a rare opportunity to meet the professionals in person and hear their stories of their journeys delivered by themselves.
