‘It’s a great platform for ideas and insight’ – DYSIN-Chem, SDC company member

DYSIN-Chem, part of DYSIN Group, is the largest dyestuff and chemicals supplier in Bangladesh, and is well known for its pioneering processes. Managing director for DYSIN International, Amanur Rahman, talks about the SDC’s role in keeping the company at the forefront of the sector.

Can you tell us about your company relationship with the SDC. How has this supported you in your aims and ambitions?

We really value this relationship – the SDC is the most famous organisation for colour education in the textile industry. We benefit from the avenues of knowledge and networking that the SDC provides for its members. With the company membership, our colleagues at DYSIN gain access to many educational resources, which are incredibly valuable for us.

When did DYSIN-Chem become a company member of SDC, and what were the reasons for applying?

DYSIN has been a corporate member of the SDC since 2008. We became a company member because we knew that the SDC would be able to provide us with trusted, practical support and services, with a focus on implementing best practices in textile colour management – resulting in improved efficiency and cost savings.

Does DYSIN find the wider colour network a source of ideas, insight and inspiration, and if so, how?

The SDC is a hub for building communities that grow organisations and engagement among the global colour network in the textile industry. Obviously, it is a great platform for ideas and insights. An impressive range of courses are available from the SDC, from technical learning to design. We find it to be a great source of inspiration for those who are keen to learn in depth.

Tell us more about DYSIN.

We provide a wide range of dyes and chemicals, from preparation to finishing, through a distribution network of sales and marketing offices and bulk warehouses, as well as technical consultation to customers, via a high-tech laboratory.

Founded in 1984, we have grown to become a one-stop-shop for dyestuff, chemicals, screen printing consumables and testing equipment, with a keen focus on customer relationships. We have 650 dedicated employees.

Since our beginnings, we have sourced chemicals from the world’s leading manufacturers to provide most cost-effective solutions.

Furthermore, we are a 100% local company. We sell our products under our own brand names and quality standards. We also provide technical support and quality assurance. To achieve this, we invest heavily in our laboratories and demonstration centres.

Our manufactured chemicals are certified for Global Organic Textile Standard and Eco-Passport – and we are involved in work to achieve zero discharge of hazardous chemicals, all while complying with major buyers’ Restricted Substance List limitations.

What are your future plans and ambitions?

We are investing in the diversification and expansion of our manufacturing capabilities, enabling us to deliver innovative and sustainable chemical solutions, across multiple industries, both in the local and global market.

We are in the process of setting up new manufacturing plants for speciality chemicals and dyestuffs for the textile and other industries.
