This interesting and very useful extract from the book “Textile Printing” by Leslie W.C.Miles(Textile Printing, 2nd edition, 2003, Society of Dyers and Colourists, 6.4, pp 217-230) describes the process of Resist Printing of textiles.

This extract from the book by Lewis  (The Coloration of Wool and other Keratin Fibres, Editors David M Lewis and John A Rippon, SDC/Wiley,  2013, Chapter 12,  12.5 Resist Printing) provides excellent background reading for this topic.

This paper by Veronica Bell  from Coloration technology (JSDC, 104 (4) 1998, pp159-172) is included here as it contains an interesting summary of resist printing of wool, at the time of writing. The whole paper is included at this point in the course as it provides a good overview and summary of the technology and techniques involved in the general process of wool printing, at the time of writing.

This paper by Lewis from Coloration Technology, 128, 2012, pp230-235 gives an interesting insight into Sulphite based resist styles for digital printing onto cotton substrate.

This paper by  Lewis from Coloration Technology, 133, 2017, pp463-468 follows the digital printing theme by examining Digital Alkali Resist Prints on Polyester.

This review from Provost entitled “Discharge and Resist Printing – a review” is a little dated, but presents a thorough overview of the techniques of these printing styles.

This patent from Blum et al , assigned to BASF, entitled “Resist Printing Process”, provides useful background reading relating to resist printing using reactive dyes on cotton fabric (screen printing and roller technology).

Here is the patent from Sandoz that describes the invention and innovation behind Sandospace R, along with achieving multicoloured effects (for carpet printing) using coloured resist agents based on reactive dyes and background colours based on acid dyes.
