The SDC is proud to announce the launch of our Global Colourist Award, sponsored by Advanced Colours and Chemicals Ltd.

This award is open to colourists working in any industry and is a recognition of professional achievements within the first ten years of the recipient’s career.

The award is open to colourists across the full gamut of sectors including – but not limited to – textiles, dyes and pigments, leather, food and paint. Production dyers or shift dyers or printing colourists are all eligible. 

People working in any role including development, application, testing, colour management and quality control can apply. 

Nominees must demonstrate enthusiasm, commitment, performance, competence, contribution to the team effort and general knowledge of the coloration industry.

Mr Ian Lewis, managing director of Advanced Colours and Chemicals Ltd in Rossendale, UK, said: “This award represents recognition of outstanding achievement within the first decade of an individual’s career. There are some excellent prizes available, and we look forward to seeing the array of nominations.”

The chosen recipient will be invited, all expenses paid, to the SDC’s Day of Celebration and Awards Ceremony in York on Friday 17 November 2023, to be presented with a certificate and their £1,000 prize money, kindly sponsored by Advanced Chemical holdings Ltd. 

They and their employer will also be featured in The Colourist, the SDC’s quarterly magazine for members.

Runners up and those highly commended will receive vouchers for SDC books.

Initial judging will take place in July, with interviews taking place in early September and the winner will be notified in mid-September.
