The Spread of Aqueous Drops on Cotton Fabric

Equipment has been developed for applying macroscopic drops of aqueous solution to a textile fabric and for recording the spread of solution within the fabric. The equipment has been used to investigate the way in which various aqueous solutions including dye solution spread on plain-weave cotton fabric. The effect of altering various parameters including surface tension and drop mass has been investigated
