Transition Temperatures of Acrilan in Relation to Dyeing Properties

The transition temperatures of Acrilian film have been determined by observing the viscolelastic behaviour in air and solutions. Two transitions temperatures are observed in water, the higher being at 84 ºC. This is of importance in the dyeing of Acrilan fibres, and correlates more closely with dyeing properties than does the Tg observed at 56 ºC. Relationships between the transition temperatures and dyeing assistant are discussed
