Matt Russell talked about colour measurement. Although you may be familiar with CIE L*a*b*, there is much more to colour measurement and many other options available. Many industries utilise other established and successful colour evaluation systems optimised for their requirements. This lecture reinforced what you may already know about colour and introduce some new concepts. Matt talked about why you might want to measure colour, he touched on light source, object and observer, and explained the key concepts of CIE L*a*b*.  But that’s not all. He also introduced transmission colour measurement of edible oils, fragrance, petroleum, pharmaceuticals etc, scales and standards, plus measuring Lovibond RYBN, visual and automatic.
