  • Andrew Filarowski

    Technical Director

    Andrew Filarowski completed his BSc (Hons) in Textile Chemistry at Leeds University, School of Textiles. He worked for various dye and chemical companies starting in laboratories and progressing through roles to carry out customer evaluations and finally working in sales with responsibilities not just in the UK but in mainland Europe.

    In his current role as Technical director of the Society of Dyers and Colourists (SDC) Andrew has been invited to speak at international conferences on topics ranging from colour fastness testing, environmental concerns in textile processing and dyestuff manufacture and of course education. He has been instrumental in developing courses for the industry in colour management and colour fastness and dyeing which have been delivered globally to retailers/ brands and manufacturers and he works closely with many Universities in encouraging technical knowledge within students. He is a member of numerous textile standard committees. He is on the editorial advisory board for the Journal of Textile Design, Research and Practice.

    He has advised and consulted with many of the associations involved in raising the environmental issues and providing solutions to industry and is a keen supporter of education as a means of providing a cleaner industry tomorrow.
