I have over 35 year’s textile industry experience at Bulmer and Lumb Group Ltd. I began my working career in 1986 as an unqualified textile labourer, through internal support and encouragement progressed from labourer to lab technician to technical dyer to dye-house manager and current role of Technical Director, more recently, also heavily involved in the creation of Regenex, a laundry service company who take linen destined for early disposal for staining and through a process of advanced scouring and bleaching return over 70% back as serviceable linen.
Day to day responsibilities for running a modern busy commission dyeing operation encompassing top dyeing, package dyeing and scouring and Industrial laundry services.
Currently providing industrial steering on a number of collaborative projects with academic institutes specifically aimed at sustainable projects.
I was awarded the ASDC in 1992 and was a recipient of SDC Silver Medal in 2016 and operated on the trustee board of the SDC for 6 years finishing my term in 2022.
A strong advocate and supporter of the TCC, FTCC and most recently ASDC qualifications as well as supporter of the SDCs Future World vision aimed at becoming more relevant and dynamic in order to service the colouration sector going forward.
