Enhanced Uptake of C.I. Direct Red 79 by Cotton in the Presence of Certain Amino Acids

Pretreatments of cotton fibres with solutions of alanine, valine, beta-phenylalanine or histidine in aqueous acetic acid increases the rate of dyeing with C.I.
