Communication of colour is a critical component in the colour-using industries. This talk will discuss techniques that are widely used including the use of language, the use of physical communication systems and CIE colour specification system. The pros and cons of the different communication systems will be discussed.  The presentation will be followed by a Q&A.

Speaker: Stephen Westland is Professor of Colour Science and Technology at the University of Leeds. He was President of the SDC in 2018/19. His research interests are colour physics, colour vision and colour design.
