This practical kit provides everything needed for an easy demonstration of the dyeing process that highlights the science involved in dyeing.

It makes an excellent introduction to some of the ways in which our clothing are coloured and also introduces pupils to the chemistry behind coloration.

This demonstration provides dramatic results in just a few simple steps.

Three individual synthetic dye solutions are supplied (Red, Yellow, Blue). The pupils see these three colours being poured into the bucket to produce a dull purple shade.

The multifibre strip is a specially woven fabric containing strips of six different fibre types. The three dyes are fixed to different fibres meaning the multifibre emerges out of the dyebath with yellow, red, blue and white stripes.

The kit includes everything you’ll need (apart from a kettleful of water) to carry out the demonstration.
There are enough materials provided for up to 35 pupils to each have a sample of the dyed fabric.
