Seeking support from the Fashion and Textiles Trust
In the society’s March webinar, we welcomed Anna Pangbourne, CEO of the Fashion and Textiles Children’s Trust (FTCT).
During the 45-minute session, Anna chatted to UK businesses operating within the fashion and textile industry about the importance of financial wellbeing at work, as well as how the charity can support families with funding for essential items. This webinar is completely FREE to all SDC members and non-members. The brilliant work carried out by the FTCT should be accessible to all who are working in the industry.
Throughout the webinar, Anna discussed how the cost-of-living crisis is affecting many families across the UK, including those that work in the UK fashion and textile industry. The session also gave tips on how organisations can help their staff seek help for financial issues, including the range of help and resources — including FTCT — that employees can access.
By working with the charity, FTCT can provide your organisation with the following:
- Support to create wording for your employee comms channels
- Bespoke promotional materials to share with your teams
- 24-hour access to the FTCT grant application service
- Regular check-ins and reports summarising FTCT’s impact with your employees
To conclude the session, Anna said: “Financial pressure is widespread. We’re here for parents when challenges at home tip them into a financial crisis.
“Our grants leave parents supported and relieved, which helps to minimise the ‘financial noise’ they’re experiencing. Home life is absolutely connected to work life — money worries at home can inevitably affect parents’ performance at work. There’s plenty of ways in which organisations can support their employees with their financial wellbeing. By working with the FTCT, organisations can help reduce the financial stress experienced by parents.”
