Textile Coloration Science and Technology Level 6 leading to ASDC
Textile Coloration Science and Technology – leading to Associateship of the Society of Dyers and Colourists (ASDC) is the only professional qualification for colourists worldwide. Textile Coloration Science and Technology has been independently benchmarked by Ecctis/UK ENIC and has been found to be comparable to FHEQ Level 6 (Framework for Higher Education Qualifications). This course, over 3 years, will reveal the fundamental processes of the coloration of textiles. Ultimately gaining this qualification allows the student to apply to be a Chartered Colourist (CCol).

Maurice Tordoff ASDC Bursary Fund
Over the next 2 years (2025-2026), the SDC is offering 3 discretionary bursaries per year that will cover 100% of the course fee. The Maurice Tordoff ASDC fund bursary will be potentially available to employees who meet the criteria as set out in the link below.

If you feel that you may qualify to receive the Maurice Tordoff bursary, please complete the relevant sections in the main ASDC application form in the “Apply Here” section at the bottom of this page.
Application deadline, if applying for the ASDC with the Maurice Tordoff bursary fund is 31 May of the intended start year.
Application deadline for the 2026 payable course is: 18 September 2026.
