Interested in volunteering for the SDC Textile Collection? Here’s how you can get involved
Join us on Saturday 9th May from 10:30am-12pm at our head office in Bradford, UK, to find out more about the digital SDC Textile Collection.
As part of our ongoing work to develop and expand the SDC archive, we are inviting volunteers to get involved and support this exciting project. Home to more than 50,000 artefacts celebrating colour, the collection continues to grow, with cataloguing still underway, there is always something new to uncover.
If you’re passionate about Bradford’s rich textile heritage, or simply curious about the science of colour, this is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a unique and meaningful initiative. You’ll also have the chance to gain valuable hands-on experience, whether you’re looking to build skills, support your studies, or enhance your CV.
How you can get involved
There are a variety of ways you can support the collection, including:
- Cataloguing
- Photography
- Event support
- Research
Whether you can spare a few hours occasionally or on a more regular basis, we’d love to meet you. Come along on the day to meet the team, explore the collection, and find out how you can contribute.
